View account

To view your account details click on the tab 'Account' located on the menu bar on top of the page.

Edit account

Once in your Account, click on the 'Edit' tab to enter your profile information. All fields and selections are then ready for modification.

Change e-mail

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you can change your email by simply filling out the field after removing the old email address. Hit the buton 'Save' at the bottom of the page to validate your changes.

Change password

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you can change your password. Fill out the appropriate field, confirm it by writing down once more the new password.

Password is private and only known to you.

Even the Gdium.com administration team can't access it.

Password can be of any length (i.e. number of characters), it is up to the user to decide. However here are some tips to create a secure password:

• Try to use more than 5 characters.
• Mix letters (uppercase and lowercase), numbers and other characters (e.g. % ! $, etc.).
• Keep your password with you and don't share it.

Change personal information

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you can modify your first and last name and date of birth (well, these are not supposed to change very often...) and country you live in.

Change role

In order to personalize your Gdium.com, it is important that you indicate whether you are a student, a teacher or professor (generally a member of the education community), a parent, a professional or other. In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you may then select your role:

• You are a student:

You are requested to enter your school name and select the grade you currently are engaged into. 

By typing in the first letters of your school, Gdium.com will automatically propose the names of the schools containing these letters. If your school is already known by Gdium.com, just select it. If not, enter the full name of your school and ask one of your teachers to create your school in Gdium.com.

Once done, you'll be able to join it. 

• You are a teacher, a professor or a member of the education community

You are requested to enter your school name. 

By typing in the first letters of your school, Gdium.com will automatically propose the names of the schools containing these letters. If your school is already known by Gdium.com, just select it.

If not, enter the full name of your school and at a later stage create your school in Gdium.com.

• You are a parent

Enter the school name where your child(ren) is (are) if you want to interact later with the school in Gdium.com.

• For all other roles, just select what describes you best.

Select school

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, and if you are either a student, a teacher or professor or a member of the education community, you can specify which school you are affiliated with.

Enter the name of your school. If the name automatically appears while you are typing in, select the school directly.

If nothing appears, your school has not been entered in the system yet. Enter then its full official name. Then proceed with either of the following:

• If you are a student: ask your teacher to create your school in the system (refer to Help Page "Manage School GSNs")
• If you are a teacher or a member of the education community of that school, create your school in the system so that all students will be able to refer to it. Follow the instructions listed in the Help Page "Manage School GSNs".

Change notification settings

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you may decide to receive or not automatic notifications by cheking or unchecking the appropriate check boxes. Indeed such notifications are sent to your email address each and every time you receive a personal message or a request to join one of your groups.

Change personal picture

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you may add a picture to your profile. Click in the field to bowse your hard disk and select the picture you would like to show.

For children and teenagers under the age of 16, it is recommended to choose a fun picture rather than your personal photo.

Change language

In the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page, you may set your prefered language by clicking on the appropriate radio button next the language name. Gdium.com will then show by default all instructions in the selected language.

Content, however, may not be translated, as the language it was created in is totally dependent on its owner's choice.

Set time zone

To make sure that you are on your proper time zone, select in the 'Edit' tab of your 'Account' page and in the 'Locale Section', the city you are in.
