From our testing swfdec seems to support more sites. We're discussing with both Gnash and Swfdec, will provide them with free hardware and probably financial support to help with the development. We're still having internal discussion on the best way to cooperate and how to speed up a good free alternative.

Is it possible to completly cut some components off from the energysupply? Something really energy-consuming like WiFi-electronics or the Screen (while presentation-mode)? Or even soundcard, usb-controller, etc...

Dear Roland, yes the wifi card has a on/off button (which now only cuts the transmitter as from what I heard the wifi card has problems to come back up from off mode - through Mandriva is working on this), The LCD goes off after x minutes of inactivity, not sure about presentation mode as I didn't try (but it could be enabled if it's not). Other peripheral might have suffer from the same issue as the wifi card, and since the Gdium is 'powered' by a USB key you probably want to be careful with that. Hi Andrew, not sure what you are referring to in 'read above' but Gdium is already released and available in stores in Belgium and France. The gdium is already being used by some teaching institutions and schools in France and in China. I wouldn't call it not mature because we're still working on making the operating system better, add applications and features.

Good to know that the gdium is available in the shops and thanks for the clarifications about the product maturity. I read in some online forums about the gdium's stability issue, and I was concerned about it. Can you tell me in which shop in France or Belgium can we buy the gdium? I'm traveling on a regular basis to those 2 countries and I'd be glad to get a hold of one of those beasts! Alternatively, can we buy the Gdium on some online shop?

You are indeed not very helpful. Anyway, thank you for trying. Just a few comments about gdium website: I've seen very little useful information and it looks to me, like the project is dead. Go to products, blog and support pages and you'd be surprised to see so little information. There's nowhere any practical information on how to actually purchase the gdium . We are in 2009, and the most basic would be to have an online shop. A serious project needs a serious website. You might want to convey this message to your management.
