Today I tested Lxde, and I like it
in fact I tried the Debian image (nice shot, but using sid and experimental scared me)
The same day I tested Mandriva 2009.1 RC1, the Dual Arch CD
So it lead me to one idea, it would be nice to have the choice between the actual G-Key, that seems nice for schools, and another one with a mimimal LXDE, like is the Dual Arch CD for Mandriva 2009.1
Few weeks I started playing with Gdium
The good news are that Firebird, the Python driver for Firebird, Flamerobin all build without problem , so as soon as Firebird 2.1.2 will be in final release, i will ask the Gdium team to add rpm into the repositories.
People will have then a nice RDBMS to play with, with little maintenance need and with good performance for this box.
I'm still playing with Firebird and related tools
I built Firebird 2.1.2 on it, the only point is that I built it with system ICU :

mon premier jeux a été de compiler Firebird 2.1.2, pas de problème, donc les rpm de Firebird pourront être disponible pour cette plateforme dès que j'aurais fini les tests.
Par contre petit ennui, impossible de faire reconnaitre une clé USB automatiquement :(
